FraBel Community — operated by HexaMods
Who operates the service
The FraBel gaming community was created around 2019–2020 for players in France, Belgium and elsewhere. Its websites, game servers and related services are operated and technically administered by HexaMods. The operator and data controller for this project is Mathieu Damoiseaux, also known in the community as DAYBR3AK1999, based in Belgium. HexaMods is a personal/hobby project, not a registered company.

What data may be handled
Depending on how you use the service, this may include player or account names, Steam identifiers, IP addresses where operationally necessary, ban and SourceComms records, server identifiers, timestamps, administrator actions, protests, submissions, reasons and comments, demo/evidence files, authentication and session information, security logs and technical HTTP/server logs. Public pages are designed to minimise raw IP addresses, complete stable identifiers and administrator-only history.
Why data is used
We use relevant data to operate FraBel services, authenticate accounts and sessions, enforce server rules, moderate abuse and cheating, prevent evasion, handle protests and reports, maintain moderation evidence, secure the websites and game infrastructure, troubleshoot incidents and keep an accountable record of administrator actions.
Legal bases
Where applicable, processing may rely on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR when it is necessary to provide a function requested by you; Article 6(1)(f) for security, moderation, abuse and cheat prevention, service integrity and incident investigation; and Article 6(1)(a) only for a genuinely optional feature that requires consent. Mandatory security and moderation records are not based on optional marketing consent.
Hosting and other services
HexaMods/FraBel infrastructure is rented from Hetzner and relevant servers are located in Germany. HexaMods remains the operator/controller; Hetzner provides hosting infrastructure and may process data under applicable contractual arrangements, including its Data Processing Agreement. Steam/Valve may be involved only when you actively choose Steam OpenID authentication. No advertising or analytics platform is currently used.
Retention
These are operational project choices, not claims that GDPR requires these exact periods.
- Web and security logs: 30 days.
- Game server logs: 30 days.
- Public game demos: 180 days.
- Ban and SourceComms records: for the sanction, plus up to 24 months where reasonably needed for moderation history, abuse prevention or a dispute.
- Protests and ban submissions: 12 months after closure.
- SourceBans evidence/moderation demos: normally up to 180 days after the related matter is closed.
- Backups containing deleted personal data: normally age out through the backup lifecycle, targeted at 30 days.
An evidence hold may temporarily suspend normal deletion for an active dispute, security or abuse investigation, or similar justified case. Holds must be reviewed and removed when no longer necessary. The owner/operator, service accounts and active administrator accounts are not automatically deleted. Ordinary inactive accounts may be reviewed for offboarding; deletion is not automatic.
Your rights
Contact privacy@hexamods.com for requests concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or information about processing. Some information may need to be retained where there is an overriding reason such as an active moderation dispute, security investigation, abuse prevention or legal claim.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
Security and changes
Access controls, session protections, CSRF controls, identifier minimisation, upload confinement and restricted evidence paths are used where appropriate. No web security measure eliminates every risk. This notice may be updated when the service, data use or retention choices change.
